New Windy T52 Super Tender combines exceptional pedigree and performance

Windy Boats has joined forces with worldrenowned yacht designer Ed Dubois to produce a stunning new 16.10 metre Super Tender – the Windy T52.Combining the exceptional design flair of Dubois with the superb build-quality, production capability and performance of the Windy brand, the elegant yet uncompromising T52 is guaranteed to turn heads as it delivers guests ashore in unprecedented style, speed and comfort.

Sporting triple IPS 600 Volvo Penta diesel engines, the T52 will boast a top speed of 46 knots, and cruising speed of 40 knots. It will also deliver effortless manoeuvrability and stability at low speeds, thanks to Volvo’s joystick control.

With a 4.5m beam, the cockpit offers generous seating including three separate racing chairs at the helm and three standing sports chairs with bimini shade. The open, walk-around teak deck also features a raised foredeck, and additional seating, sun lounger and hydraulic bathing ladder aft – perfect for race spectating, swimming or picnicking at anchorage. A head wi h shower is located below decks, along with a double berth.

One of the new generation of leaner, greener Windy models, the T52 employs vacuum injected moulding to produce a lighter, more fuel-efficient hull with a range of 450-480 miles. The sleek lines and rakish sheer of the T52’s distinctive hull will deliver an exhilarating but stable and dry ride.

Work on the tender is already underway and the first T52 is expected to be ready for sea trials

Seafaring passion from the new Sealine F42

Sealine have released plans of their new F42 flybridge cruiser, due for launch at the 2010 Southampton Boat Show.  The current F42/5, the new F42 offers unrivalled space for entertaining throughout the craft, whilst building on the practical cruising capabilities of the hugely successful F42/5. The F42 has a significantly larger flybridge due to the extended design first offered on the F46 (launched in September). There is space for six to dine in comfort around the large dining table, plus the ability to create a large sun bed aft by simply folding down the backrest on the rear seats. There is a central double helm, two further forward facing seats, a large cool box and spacious storage locker.

The single level deck has a three part sliding door joining the cockpit to the saloon, providing excellent connectivity. In the saloon, a comfortable L shaped seating area is on the starboard side with further seating on the port side. The seating area can easily be converted into an occasional double berth. The open plan galley is located forward.  The feeling of space and light is created with the large wrap around windscreen which also provides some stunning panoramic views.
In the cockpit there is an L shaped seating area with a large lazerette underneath. The cockpit is large enough for entertaining and has an optional fridge and grill to add to the enjoyment of alfresco dining. As with the F46 there are wide side decks and high pulpit rails for added safety.

There are two cabins, offering five berths as standard with the luxurious master cabin located forward. A bonded skylight above the bed provides extra light and a wonderful feeling of space. This cabin offers full length hanging storage as well as plenty of general storage capacity.  The forward cabin has separate ensuite shower and toilet compartments. To provide additional space and privacy the F42 offers a second cabin amidships, that can be configured either as a triple, twin or double. The second cabin also offers an ensuite shower and separate toilet with a skylight. As with the master cabin there is full hanging space and plenty of storage. Bonded cabin windows provide extra light as well as waterside views. There will be the option to have additional storage in the mid cabin in lieu of the third berth.

The spacious interior is characterised by the hand crafted furniture used throughout which has been finished in washed walnut with solid walnut accents. The colour palette for the soft furnishings is earthy with fruit overtones. There will be even more storage on the new F42 than on the F42/5 with the new boat building on the strengths of its forerunner. All the benefits from the F42/5 have been incorporated and expanded upon with the new design – from storage to seating areas, to large entertaining spaces in the cockpit, saloon and on the flybridge.

The new hull is based on the proven design concept developed for the SC47 and F46 and will be priced at around £ 313,000 for the standard model excluding VAT when fitted with twin Volvo Penta IPS500 (740 BHP total 2 engines). The boat will also be available with twin Volvo Penta IPS600 (870 BHP total 2 engines).

Posillipo Technema 95 The Italian Job

Designer Carlo Galeazzi has done a fantastic job, offering an elegant, well-balanced boat with flowing modern lines which, without eye saw excess traditional to the Italian shipyard’s style.

The hull and deck superstructures have been constructed in GRP built over 3 decks the Technema 95 has superb external and internal living areas notable for there elegance and comfort: the flying bridge features a spectacular view all round the yacht and spacious semicircular sofas with comfortable sundecks, so entertaining guests or friends can be a simple affair.

The large bar on the upper deck is equipped with sink, fridge and icemaker. The layout aft of the flybridge includes accommodation for two jet skis or a large tender, while the helm position is situated forward, protected by an efficient windshield. The cockpit provides ample space for a sofa plus a fibreglass table and chairs if required

The interior envisages different custom solutions with options of 4 or 5 cabins. There is a large saloon on the upper deck aligned with the dining area and a table to seat 10, plus a separate zone which can be used as an office or other variations depending on individual requirements, leading on from here you will find yourself in the technology encrusted bridge which comes fully loaded with everything you would expect from a yacht of this size.

Below deck in the 4 cabin layout you will find an owner’s suite with dressing room and spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi or, on request, a hydro-massage shower. Still on the lower deck there is a VIP cabin and 2 double guest cabins, each with private bathroom. The crew’s area is forward and consists of 2 cabins for four persons, with separate bathrooms.

The 5 cabin version envisages two solutions with different compartmentalisation: the first one has the owner’s suite on the upper deck while the pantry area is extended thus leaving more space for the crew’s quarters; in the second version all the cabins are on the lower deck.

The Technema 95 is also rich in instrumentation, both on the internal and flying bridges, with state of the art autopilot, radar, plotter, etc.. The standard accessories too are high level with hot/cold air-conditioning in all the rooms and plasma TV in the saloon and cabins. In the saloon an electrically controlled mechanised system slides away a large painting to reveal a flat TV screen set flush to the wall.

As for the décor, it is left to the owner to choose an architect for the highest level of customisation. The first three boats produced, for example, bore the signatures of two different specialists: the first was by Reberberi and the others by Carlo Trezzi. As you would expect from any top custom yacht projects the owner can adapt the vessel to his tastes in the choice of woods and materials: cherry, maple or stained oak, marble, broadloom, fabrics and bathroom fixtures.

For the bathroom floors you can choose practical teak or go for marble, while the most demanding customers may opt for mosaics, another decidedly exclusive alternative which, obviously, does not come under standard accessories but will give that individual feel to their yacht.

Posillipo offer a pair of 2x24000hp MTU engines that will give the Technema 95 and impressive  Top speed of 31 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 25 knots.

Carlo Galeazzi has produced an inspiring yacht in the Technema 95 incorporating elegance, comfort and technology to produce a beautiful peace of Italian yacht design and building.

Brit award goes to Princess M class super yachts

Princess Yachts International plc are set for another exciting year in 2010 as along side their new boat launches they reveal the first images of the new M Class yachts.

Beautifully detailed, scale models of both the 32M and the 40M yachts where publically revealed for the first time at the London International Boat Show together with the very first images of both models – an unveiling that has been eagerly awaited since the Company announced plans to move into the 100 feet plus category last Spring.

The M Class yachts will be built at the recently acquired South Yard facility, just a short distance along the waterfront from the Princess Head Quarters where production of the very first vessel, the 32M, is already well underway.  Her vast, resin infused hull was completed in early December and floated ceremoniously across to the new Shipyard from Newport Street and now the fit out of the largest Princess to date has begun – her completion scheduled for later in 2010.

Whilst the hull was in the moulding shop, the M Class design team has been inside the huge South Yard facility constructing a complete, full-size and detailed mock-up of the yacht’s interior which has been used to trial many different design, finishes and detailing ideas for what will be the most sumptuous Princess interior yet.

It’s an indication of the sheer size of the Princess South Yard facility that the 32M hull easily fits alongside this life-size mock-up and in February, the Princess 95 Motor Yacht production team will also move to the South Yard facility, where they will build 95 Motor Yachts, two at a time, alongside the 32M.

These impressive new craft will be unmistakably Princess in terms of design and performance, while offering exceptional levels of personalisation so each will be truly individual. Extremely spacious, the 32M provides accommodation for up to 10 guests and can be configured with either three of four en-suite staterooms for guests in addition to the owners suite which takes pride of place on the main deck.

The 40M, a long-range Tri-deck cruising yacht, is scheduled for launch late in 2011 and she offers an unprecedented level of luxury and personalisation.  Eminently capable of accommodating 12 guests she also provides separate accommodation for up to 8 crew to ensure complete privacy.   The owner is accommodated in a magnificent suite on the main deck while throughout the yacht there is an incredible amount of scope for personalisation ensuring she is a very worthy flagship for the Princess fleet.

Get that satisfaction feeling from the Sealine SC35

Although launched back in 2007 the SC35 was the corner stone for the latest Sealine design direction. The design filled the saloon with natural light through the translucent convertible roof system with an unprecedented feeling of space for a boat of this size in both forward and aft cabins.

During the first year of production Sealine rode a wave of orders for the SC35 (Sports convertible 35) being a hit with customers who were attracted to the signature design innovation from Sealine.

Throughout the interior, the colour palette is warm and natural with walnut edging, washed walnut panelling and soft furnishings of ivory tones, silver blue and chocolate brown, whilst the secondary palette offers a fresh contrast with lime green, papaya orange and dark blueberry tones.

The large double forward cabin is reached by opening a set of double doors. This creates an open plan feel and gives an overall impression of space flowing through the boat

The hull, designed in collaboration with world powerboat champion designer Ocke Mannerfelt, has a deep v form with extended planning surfaces and bold topside contours – generated to provide comfortable and efficient costal cruising

She can be supplied with twin diesel engine options from Volvo or Mercruiser married to Twin prop stern drives giving her a respectable 30 knots plus top speed.

On a final note the SC35 has always been a popular choice with Sports Cruiser enthusiasts around the globe and what is even more attractive is you can find very good used examples of the very popular Sealine sports boat.

A royal wave from the Regal 2250

February 11, 2010

You can trace the 2250 roots right back to the first ever Regal produced back in 1969, it was at the Orlando site that Regal rolled out its first ever 21ft sports boat cuddy. The 2250 is testament to how far the US based firm has come.

The 2250 has an aggressive look and feel to it from the outside but once you’re aboard the upmarket feel is all around you.

There is a generous use of stainless steel around the cockpit most noticeable in the windscreen fittings, the helms position has a well presented instrument panel with an elegant finish that can be found on much larger craft.

The 2250 has been fitted with a sliding acrylic door as seen on larger cruisers and provides a perfect natural light into the well fitted and elegant cuddy area.

The 2250 can be powered by Mercruiser of Volvo units, however we would favour the diesel powered 190 hp Volvo D3 power unit coupled to the DP duo-prop drive good for a 40 knot top speed with a great range.

The 2250 is a great weekend sports boat perfect for a family day out or for couples who want that overnight stay. With an upmarket interior, plenty of room in the cockpit and a great sun and bathing area toward the stern, it would be hard to beat the 2250 as the perfect all round sports cuddy.
