Grandezza has being expanding its range consistently this past 24 months and one that stands out is the new 40 FLY is based on the Grandezza 39 CA. In addition to second helm position the flybridge delivers a huge sunbed, another wetbar and dinette with extensive seating and a great view. The design goal was to create, for the North and Central European markets, a motor boat suitable for family use that will be internationally top ranked in its size class for its design, functionality, safety, and quality. The boat has a clear and functional layout, with the features accustomed to a traditional sport cruiser. The WSB takes a closer look at this new arrival.
The main entrance to the boat is at the back via the wide swim platform, where the lockers for fenders and other mooring gear are. Landing from the front is made easier by the sturdy pulpits. A special feature is a private exit for the driver that opens on the wide and deep side deck on the starboard side.
Together with the Aquamatic Joystick control system, it makes landing and mooring easy and safe, and if needed, the driver can do it alone. The saloon is a spacious living room, touring cabin, dining room, and a space for enjoyment. On the port side of the saloon, there’s a sizable U shaped dinette, and on the other side, cupboards for cutlery, dishes, drinks, and for a liftable TV. The sofas are positioned so that all passengers have an excellent view out, even during travel.
The dinette may be converted to a berth (optional), so the saloon will transform into a third sleeping cabin. The four part sliding patrician door which can be opened to form a big, open back space with the fixed L-shaped sofa, e.g. for a party with a bigger group.
A second alfresco dining table is situated on the flybridge which, with extensive seating, large sun-bed and wet-bar, is ideal for entertaining and sunbathing. The optional covered barbecue module and a fridge are available to flybridge. The operational centre for living in the boat is the roomy and bright galley in the front part of the boat, below the helm. The galley has exits for deck saloon, forward cabin, toilet/shower, and the mid cabin, which is the master cabin. This solution has made possible to equip the galley well and functionally.
It has generous cupboard space, two sinks, and multifunctional oven with recirculated air, grill and microwave functionality, a ceramic hob, a range hood, and ample work top space. The toilet/shower has entry from the galley. The shower is separated from toilet with a hinged door, and holds a fixed bench for better safety and functionality. The toilet has a seat with electric flush, stylish mirror cabinet and vanity units, and a bowl formed basin.
The master cabin is located amidships, the widest part of the boat. The large windows on both sides of the cabin give light and a panorama view of the surroundings. The lavish double bed has a mattress with springs. The full size extra bed on port side, and plenty of cupboard space make the cabin cosy and functional.
The forward cabin has a wide double bed, which has a scissors-like solution for splitting it into two separate beds, if needed. In the forward cabin, there’s also a bench for dressing, two spacious wardrobes, and plenty of room on the side shelves and under the bed.
The interior colours, patterns, and materials are of latest harmonic, stylish, and elegant international design. Satin waxed walnut is used throughout, and upholstery of Silvertex™. The interior sofas are optionally available with leather upholstery.
The objectives for the boat have been the best levels of seaworthiness, performance and handling at sea. This has been attained by advanced hull design technology, and with a new ecological laminate technology. The boat has a deep V shaped bottom that cuts softly into waves in all conditions at sea.
The injection lamination technology used produces a sandwich hull structure that is significantly more rigid and lighter than a traditional laminate hull. All the body from bottom to upper edge of side has sandwich structure, which also minimizes the body sounds of the boat. The Divinycell nucleus foam also insulates heat, and lessens condensation of moisture in spring and autumn.
