Fjord 480 Open and Sport
The Fjord 480 is the latest addition to join its model range lineup. This vessel offers two distinct configurations: the 480 Open, featuring inboard engines, and the 480 Sprot, equipped with outboard powerplants. The WSB team take a closer look at the newest edition from Fjord Boats.
In collaboration with the esteemed yacht designer Marco Casali, Fjord has refined its pioneering walkaround yacht concept to introduce the Fjord 480. Engineered for discerning enthusiasts, the 480 Open can be optionally outfitted with twin Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines, propelling it to a commendable top speed of up to 34 knots. Meanwhile, the 480 Sport boasts three Mercury Verado V12 outboards, generating an impressive 1,800 horsepower and achieving exhilarating speeds of up to 45 knots.
Breaking new ground, Fjord introduces expansive folding side balconies on the 480 model, facilitating seamless access to the water. The vessel’s capacious deck area, intelligently designed with a prominent T-top for ample shade and meticulous space allocation to optimize movement, sets the stage for unparalleled aquatic experiences. Additionally, luxurious sun loungers positioned aft and on the foredeck beckon passengers to unwind in style.
Catering to culinary desires, the cockpit galley is thoughtfully equipped with diverse amenities to accommodate onboard dining preferences. Furthermore, the 480 SPORT distinguishes itself with its vast storage capacity beneath the sun lounger, offering ample space for water sports paraphernalia such as stand-up paddleboards and diving gear.
Below the deck, an array of layout options cater to individual preferences, ranging from a welcoming saloon with a cosy seating area in the fore cabin and a double cabin to configurations featuring two double cabins and up to two bathrooms. Optional additional bulkheads and doors afford enhanced privacy for discerning occupants. Exhibiting a harmonious blend of performance, comfort, and iconic design elements, the new FJORD 480 commands attention in any fitting marina. The Fjord 480 anticipates its official debut in autumn 2024.
