160 mph plus Class 1 power boat championship – Romanian results 2009

You won’t find a sport that has speed coupled with technology that gives the “wow” factor like this anywhere else on water in the world, it’s F1 for water.

The UIM Class 1 offshore powerboat championship is a sport from the super-rich and provides spectators a truly magnificent site. These boats can achieve speeds over 160 mph and the sound that comes from the modified V8 and V12 900hp engines is sure to give your ears a bashing too.

Fazza completed the perfect weekend with a second race win in as many days, ensuring a clean sweep of the weekend’s honours. Welmax’s overnight repairs were rewarded with second place and Maritimo 11 made up for yesterday’s disappointment by taking the final podium place in Race 2 of the Romanian Grand Prix, round 3 of the UIM WPPA Class 1 World Powerboat Championship.
