From 1961 Baia have been a manufacturer of sea going vessels and here we have their one of their master pieces in the award winning Baia 78 Atlantica.

Baia have been a leader in design innovation such as removable hard tops and first for using the Arneson surface drive system coupled with seemingly timeless exterior design.

Being of Italian origin you will immediately see the form governs function when you step aboard, the modern teak decking leads your eyes through the entertainment area of the cockpit and  draws your eyes directly to the ultra modern patio door opening  system that when opened brings together a beautifully open planed cockpit and saloon perfect for guest party evenings.

There is a convertible sunbed and central located C-shaped settee in the aft cockpit area on entering the saloon through the patio doors you will find an L shaped lounge suite and bar area, further forward you will see the dual helm position located to starboard.

The whole saloon area is beautifully layout with large accommodating windows either side to extract as much natural light into the area and equally good viewing from within when cruising.

Stepping below will bring you to the galley room layout, here you will find a modern crafted cooking area with a metallic feel with an optional area for entertaining if required.

The Master cabin in located mid-ship and is beautifully crafted in light tanned materials and high gloss wood finish, with a spacious en-suite bathroom featuring separated shower.

VIP cabin is located forward and crafted in a similar look and feel to the Master cabin and has a personal en-suite. There is another double berth guest cabin with en-suite head and the crew cabin is located mid-ship and has two bunk berths and a private head.

However as you would expect from vessels of this size there are multi options for layouts and furnishing materials throughout the Baia 78 allowing you to build that personal touch to your craft.

The Baia 78 can be supplied with engines options from MTU, our choice would be the MTU 16V 2000 M93 – 2430 Cv. X 2 Arneson Drive ASD 15 which give the Baia 78 an unrivalled performance for her size, she will hit a top speed just short of 50knots that says a lot for the design of her hull and the set up of those Arneson surface driven propeller system.

Baia have produced a winning formula in the 78 Atlantica, her sleek modern lines beautifully crafted interiors and innovative touches such as the disappearing patio doors place the Baia firmly within top ranks of sports cruiser manufacturers, add this to her blistering performance and sea going capabilities and you have yourself yet another great timeless classic from another Italian boat builder.

Azimut step up their game in the super yacht market

Add to FacebookAdd to DiggAdd to Del.icio.usAdd to StumbleuponAdd to RedditAdd to BlinklistAdd to TwitterAdd to TechnoratiAdd to Yahoo BuzzAdd to Newsvine

Four new yachts of over 30 metres and a design philosophy entirely at the service of the megayacht owner. With a special equipe of designers who provide services directly at Customer’s home, anywhere in the world. All this is Grande, or better, Azimut Grande.

The new family encompasses the entire Azimut Yachts offer in the over 100 feet segment and gives a characteristically Italian name to the approach that Azimut has always taken to customer relations: an approach that has made it the favourite shipyard of Megayacht owners throughout the world since twelve years. “It is pronounced ‘grande’ – points out Ugo Garassino, Deputy General Manager of Azimut Yachts, – this translates as ‘big’, ‘great’ or ‘huge’, but means much, much more.” “For once we’re not talking about the flagship of a fleet, but rather a whole fleet of flagships. – continues Garassino – an exceptional portfolio of Megayachts, which by 2013 will have expanded to include four new models.

Over the next few months, work on the Azimut 120 SL will be complete, while the 100ft Raised Pilot House, the 110ft Widebody, and last but not least the 126ft with two and a half decks will be launched in the next three years. These projects are destined to leave a lasting impression on yachting history.

This is GRANDE.” All the attention to detail and stylistic excellence of Italian craftsmanship. This is GRANDE. All the renown of the Azimut Benetti Group: world market leader in so many ways, not least in economic and financial stability. This is GRANDE. Freedom to use the most advanced Facilities and the best creative and production capacities within state of the art production establishments. The incredible deluxe shipyard in Viareggio, which has always welcomed Azimut owners. More than 40,000 m2 in which expert shipbuilders work alongside qualified craftsmen and which houses an innovative, rich styling lounge, to give the ultimate personal touch to each vessel.

This is Grande.” All the listening capacity of a Shipyard which provides a Personal Design Equipe entirely at the service of its customers. This is one of the new elements of the Azimut Grande project: a special team to transform dreams into fully operational designs. The Personal Design Equipe is happy to meet the owner anywhere in the world, to discuss his needs, discover his wishes and – in no time at all – present him with a proposal that will transform his dreams into reality. This is Grande. The direct relationship with the customer and the ability to customise a vessel to the maximum is one of the great strengths of Azimut’s approach that have always made it stand out, as shown by the experiences of Philip Rinaldi, owner of “Vivere” (116ft Azimut): “A Megayacht not only represents your tastes, but is also, and most of all, a way to express yourself, to show who you have become over the course of your life. This is why I chose Azimut as a partner in building my latest Megayacht: I wanted the vessel to reflect my personality as far as possible; I wanted it to be perfect, a precise reconstruction of the image I had in mind: or even better. During the months I spent in Viareggio, it was exciting to watch my dream take shape. My blending with Azimut grew day by day, together with my yacht.” Azimut Grande is a new adventure in entrepreneurial, design and cultural terms.

A grand adventure in ideas and investments, that only Azimut could launch, strengthened by its position as international leader in Megayacht production. “The fascination of authentic Italian craftsmanship, our customers’ faith in our economic and financial stability, the opportunity to customise your own boat: these are the reasons why for the past 12 years Azimut has been the favourite shipyard for Megayacht construction among shipowners all over the world – this is how Paolo Vitelli, President of the Azimut Benetti Group sums it up. – I think that this supremacy, consolidated over so many years, results from the efforts of all the people who work for Azimut Benetti Group. These are people who, on a daily basis, use their passion for their craft to create products which are exceptional and unique, just like our customers, who are the true inspiration for the Megayachts that they create.”

Bayliner’s 245 SB is designed for comfort, performance and ease of ownership.  As plush topside as it is below in its roomy and well-appointed cabin, the 245 benefits from Bayliner’s exclusive beam forward design that puts livable space where it’s needed most.  In the cockpit, the L-shaped seating area includes a SunChaiser™ lounger with fore-and-aft movable backrest so passengers can optimize their conversation or viewing space.  Cupholders near each seat make serving beverages easy as well.

Drivers will appreciate the power assisted rack-and-pinion steering that minimizes helm effort.  The glare-resistant instrument panel is completely waterproof, making hosedowns easy, while ample dash space is left for aftermarket electronics.

Powering the 245 SB is a 5.0L (220HP) Mercruiser Alpha I V-8 engine—more than enough for watersports like tubing or wakeboarding, yet economical to operate over a full weekend.  A retractable three-step swim ladder with handrail offers convenient access to the integrated swim platform.

In the cabin, six-plus feet of headroom provides a rich sense of openness—a feeling only accented by the 245 SB’s continuous side windows.  The galley includes a stainless steel wet sink and plenty of food and dinnerware storage; the forward dinette, capable of seating four comfortably, doubles as a V-berth at night.  The 245 also includes a private aft stateroom for two, enclosed head with sink and portable toilet or optional holding tank, and integrated below-deck AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers that is also satellite-ready and MP3 compatible.

“Bayliner’s new 245 SB for 2010 is an excellent combination of versatility, simplicity and value,” noted Jeff Behan, President of Bayliner Boats.  “Our goal was to create a top-quality cruiser that is easy to use and easy to maintain, yet also provides the functional amenities that support a wide variety of uses.

Whether your favorite pastime is dockside parties, overnight family excursions or simply experiencing the open water on a sunny afternoon—or all three—the Bayliner 245 SB makes it all possible.”

Adding to its versatility, the 245 SB is suitable for trailering to wherever the roads and waters dictate.  Options include air conditioner/heater, dockside power (including dual-voltage refrigerator, alcohol electric stove, water heater, battery charger and transom shower), Sunbrella® cockpit or camper back covers, tandem-axle trailer, and two engine upgrades.

Ferret your way into the Ferretti 881

Like any Italian-built machine, the Ferretti 881 follows design by form, not function, beauty comes first and stepping on board for the first time will fill you with a passion and feeling that you are onboard a yacht that has beauty and soul, thus every time you see the Ferretti 881 you will fall in love with it.

Once on board, you will soon come to realise that style comes first. Every where you look you will be surprised by the attention to detail however Ferretti has all the classic elements of yacht design within the 881: The helms position is well forward to create a large living area saloon, and there is the wide beam to create generous width.

Throughout, there is the highly lacquered cherry interior, but individual options can be catered for by Ferretti to insure your own 881 personalisation however there is no denying the classic use of the cherry interior which matches beautifully with the tan leather and cream-coloured, coarse-woven fabric on the walls and thin horizontal wood strips break up the panelling.

This impressive dedication to design has allowed for the inclusion of two large open-view windows in the master cabin. The bedroom part of the suite is on the port side, and a seat by the window which seems to be almost under water is a spectacular place to be when cruising at speed. On the starboard side, there is another of these windows allowing natural light to cover the full-size bath; an interior window allows a view right through from the bedroom, via the glass doors of the semi-circular shower cabinet. The arrangement takes your breath away and is a testament to Ferretti’s soul-creating design within the 881.

This master suite is a work of art, the style and elegance that surrounds it is a site to behold, time spent here can fly by as you can relax watching the world go by through the large side window. It’s certainly the place to be as the owner or a paying guest aboard the 881.

The fly bridge area accommodates a barbecue and bar; large sun beds and an optional hot tub make this the place to be for entertaining in the sun. There is also a great view of the foredeck of the 881 from here and the additional sun pads on the foredeck a great place to be when cruising along.

Ferretti can offer 2 x MTU 2200hp diesel engines giving the 881 an impressive 32 knot top speed and cruising speed of 28 knots. There is plenty of space in the engine compartment and it is here that you will find Ferretti’s anti-rolling gyro system (ARG) fitted as standard giving the 881 reassuring stability when you’re anchored potting at low speed or cruising at full throttle.

The garage built into the stern can accommodate a small tender or a Jet Ski. This is the usual thing until you find that the large door hinges down to form what is virtually a teak-decked, water sports area and then the area becomes exceptional and again a surprising piece of design from Ferretti.

As a guest and owner of a Ferretti 881 the layout and design are logical in their form and engulf you in a real sense of belonging but as a captain or helms you may feel the lower pilot position should be slightly wider if trying to accommodate 2 persons and the fly bridge helm could have a slightly large windscreen deflector however these are very minor points in what is a magnificent machine.

Ferretti has made a master piece in the 881, a sports yacht that has you dreaming of cruising every day and enjoying the many luxuries at your fingertips every time you step onboard.

Seafaring passion from the new Sealine F42

Sealine has released plans of their new F42 flybridge cruiser, due for launch at the 2010 Southampton Boat Show.  The current F42/5, the new F42 offers unrivalled space for entertaining throughout the craft, whilst building on the practical cruising capabilities of the hugely successful F42/5. The F42 has a significantly larger flybridge due to the extended design first offered on the F46 (launched in September). There is space for six to dine in comfort around the large dining table, plus the ability to create a large sunbed aft by simply folding down the backrest on the rear seats. There is a central double helm, two further forward-facing seats, a large cool box and spacious storage locker.

The single-level deck has a three-part sliding door joining the cockpit to the saloon, providing excellent connectivity. In the saloon, a comfortable L shaped seating area is on the starboard side with further seating on the port side. The seating area can easily be converted into an occasional double berth. The open plan galley is located forward.  The feeling of space and light is created with the large wrap around windscreen which also provides some stunning panoramic views.
In the cockpit, there is an L shaped seating area with a large lazarette underneath. The cockpit is large enough for entertaining and has an optional fridge and grill to add to the enjoyment of alfresco dining. As with the F46, there are wide side decks and high pulpit rails for added safety.

There are two cabins, offering five berths as standard with the luxurious master cabin located forward. A bonded skylight above the bed provides extra light and a wonderful feeling of space. This cabin offers full length hanging storage as well as plenty of general storage capacity.  The forward cabin has separate ensuite shower and toilet compartments. To provide additional space and privacy the F42 offers a second cabin amidships, that can be configured either as a triple, twin or double. The second cabin also offers an ensuite shower and a separate toilet with a skylight. As with the master cabin, there is full hanging space and plenty of storage. Bonded cabin windows provide extra light as well as waterside views. There will be the option to have additional storage in the mid-cabin in lieu of the third berth.

The spacious interior is characterised by the handcrafted furniture used throughout which has been finished in washed walnut with solid walnut accents. The colour palette for the soft furnishings is earthy with fruit overtones. There will be even more storage on the new F42 than on the F42/5 with the new boat building on the strengths of its forerunner. All the benefits from the F42/5 have been incorporated and expanded upon with the new design – from storage to seating areas, to large entertaining spaces in the cockpit, saloon and on the flybridge.

The new hull is based on the proven design concept developed for the SC47 and F46 and will be priced at around £ 313,000 for the standard model excluding VAT when fitted with twin Volvo Penta IPS500 (740 BHP total 2 engines). The boat will also be available with twin Volvo Penta IPS600 (870 BHP total 2 engines).

Posillipo Technema 95 The Italian Job

Add to FacebookAdd to DiggAdd to Del.icio.usAdd to StumbleuponAdd to RedditAdd to BlinklistAdd to TwitterAdd to TechnoratiAdd to Yahoo BuzzAdd to Newsvine

Designer Carlo Galeazzi has done a fantastic job, offering an elegant, well-balanced boat with flowing modern lines which, without eye saw excess traditional to the Italian shipyard’s style.

The hull and deck superstructures have been constructed in GRP built over 3 decks the Technema 95 has superb external and internal living areas notable for there elegance and comfort: the flying bridge features a spectacular view all round the yacht and spacious semicircular sofas with comfortable sundecks, so entertaining guests or friends can be a simple affair.

The large bar on the upper deck is equipped with sink, fridge and icemaker. The layout aft of the flybridge includes accommodation for two jet skis or a large tender, while the helm position is situated forward, protected by an efficient windshield. The cockpit provides ample space for a sofa plus a fibreglass table and chairs if required

The interior envisages different custom solutions with options of 4 or 5 cabins. There is a large saloon on the upper deck aligned with the dining area and a table to seat 10, plus a separate zone which can be used as an office or other variations depending on individual requirements, leading on from here you will find yourself in the technology encrusted bridge which comes fully loaded with everything you would expect from a yacht of this size.

Below deck in the 4 cabin layout you will find an owner’s suite with dressing room and spacious bathroom with Jacuzzi or, on request, a hydro-massage shower. Still on the lower deck there is a VIP cabin and 2 double guest cabins, each with private bathroom. The crew’s area is forward and consists of 2 cabins for four persons, with separate bathrooms.

The 5 cabin version envisages two solutions with different compartmentalisation: the first one has the owner’s suite on the upper deck while the pantry area is extended thus leaving more space for the crew’s quarters; in the second version all the cabins are on the lower deck.

The Technema 95 is also rich in instrumentation, both on the internal and flying bridges, with state of the art autopilot, radar, plotter, etc.. The standard accessories too are high level with hot/cold air-conditioning in all the rooms and plasma TV in the saloon and cabins. In the saloon an electrically controlled mechanised system slides away a large painting to reveal a flat TV screen set flush to the wall.

As for the décor, it is left to the owner to choose an architect for the highest level of customisation. The first three boats produced, for example, bore the signatures of two different specialists: the first was by Reberberi and the others by Carlo Trezzi. As you would expect from any top custom yacht projects the owner can adapt the vessel to his tastes in the choice of woods and materials: cherry, maple or stained oak, marble, broadloom, fabrics and bathroom fixtures.

For the bathroom floors you can choose practical teak or go for marble, while the most demanding customers may opt for mosaics, another decidedly exclusive alternative which, obviously, does not come under standard accessories but will give that individual feel to their yacht.

Posillipo offer a pair of 2x24000hp MTU engines that will give the Technema 95 and impressive  Top speed of 31 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 25 knots.

Carlo Galeazzi has produced an inspiring yacht in the Technema 95 incorporating elegance, comfort and technology to produce a beautiful peace of Italian yacht design and building.
