In the passage of model years, one introductory boat to another, “new” and “different” are the easy bywords. “Valuable,” not so much. The demonstration of authentic, enduring value in each new feature on a boat becomes exponentially more challenging, yet rewarding with each passing season, and so now the Cobalt 243 follows in the direct lineage of the rightfully recognized Cobalt A25, last year’s fan favorite in the delivery of genuine value.

Thats wind burn not sun burn in the Sunseeker XS Sport

The Sunseeker XS Sport has been around for a while now, however it still sets a market leading bench mark as a top performer and does not shy away from the new comers such as the Fearless 28 from our previous review or for that matter other competitor challengers in this market place.

Originally named the XS 2000 the XS has been tweaked over the years to become a bench setter within the extreme fast sports boat market, it is available as the 2000 or sport variants.

The Sunseeker XS Sport comes with the option of twin 370hp or 440hp Yanmars . The 440hp set up married to the ZF Trimax surface drives with two-speed transmissions make the boat very easy to manoeuvre (1.3:1 ratio in low gear, 1:1 in high) and would be our choice here, giving the XS a blistering top speed of over 70 mph.

The XS sports entire hull and deck is cored with balsa and reinforced with Kevlar skins. The XS walk-through cockpit leads to a 5 seat configuration plus a sun lounging area aft, race styled helm features well laid out instruments with radio and CD remote control system.

The XS is not for the faint hearted, it is an outright extreme sports boat and for those that love speed this will be right up your street and of course those who want to give there passengers a ride they wont forget.

Two deck configurations are offered by Sunseeker, the XS 2000 comes as a closed forward deck while the XS Sport has a walk-around console open forward deck, both models will be a guarantee a pace that sets the adrenaline raging.

Don’t let the sun go down in the Sea Ray 450 Sundancer

Sea Ray has introduced 14 new models in the past two years alone. This explains how the world’s most respected boat builder stays on top, by keeping its fleet constantly evolving and improving. It also explains why boat buyers repeatedly turn to Sea Ray for the latest technologies and freshest designs in the industry.

Naturally, the all-new 450 Sundancer® advances Sea Ray’s tradition of forward thinking with innovative and trend-setting features like its standard Axius® propulsion system with joystick control, a fiberglass hardtop with retractable sunroof, a cockpit entertainment center with optional grill and TV, and a designated “media room” in the cabin. Add all these things together, and you could have the most adaptable, user-friendly express cruiser on the water.

Starting topside, the 450 builds upon the versatility of its Sundancer siblings with a seamless hardtop and bonded-in windshield that provide unsurpassed climate control thanks to a forward vent, sunroof, and optional cockpit air conditioning/heating. The benefit is comfortable boating in all kinds of weather. Two, doublewide benches with flip-up bolsters and armrests serve the helm and port console. The helm itself comes with a full complement of driving and navigation aids to make operation easier than ever, from the SmartCraft® VesselView display, to the Axius or Zeus joystick control, to the amazing Skyhook® station-keeping feature. Twin diesel Zeus® pod drives are also available either with the QSB 380′s or the QSB 480′s, allowing customers to personalize their power depending on how and where they boat.

Leisure possibilities abound at the large, U-shaped cockpit lounge with removable table. The aft-most backrest of this seat is split, and the two sections pivot open to create an extension of the sun pad, which has abundant storage below for lines, fenders, and other necessary items. On the starboard side of the cockpit, a big, L-shaped wet bar with icemaker will keep everyone hydrated, and owners can choose to add an optional grill, refrigerator, and removable 19″ flatscreen TV to create an “outdoor galley” atmosphere. Under the sleek exterior of the 450 lies a classic-contemporary interior, with top-of-the-line cabinetry from Sea Ray’s Cape Canaveral Woodworking & Finishing Facility, Ultraleather seating, brushed chrome accents, and optional wood floors. Ambient light from the oversized hull windows and skylight gives a natural glow to the earthy materials used in the cabin.

The forward stateroom features a full-size island V-berth with memory foam mattress and electric extension and Posturepedic® backrest, plus a Shoji-style sliding door and separate head and shower compartments with tile floors. The main cabin houses a spacious galley with stainless-steel appliances and loads of storage along the port side; to starboard, a dining area with folding table easily coverts to a sleeper. The Sony® stereo located here comes fully outfitted with an iPod® docking station, CD player, Sirius® satellite receiver, amplifier, subwoofer, and more.

At the heart of its entertainment-ready interior, the new 450 features a unique media room abaft the salon that comes complete with theater seats, accent lights, and an entertainment system boasting a gaming system port, MP3 port, DVD player, and a 32-inch TV. If it’s true surround-sound feel you’re looking for and a large-screen experience, select the optional entertainment package that offers the Bose 3-2-1 System and 37-inch flatscreen. Those two options will surely keep any child or adult happy. A pair of ottomans serve double duty. These ottomans not only have storage inside, but the tops are reversible – one side has a wooden tabletop; the other is cushioned. You can either place your drinks and snacks on the table side, or flip it over and throw up your feet and relax! (There are also hanging lockers to port and starboard, as well as a storage cabinet). The theater seats convert to a double berth by way of their slide-out base, and a curtain provides nighttime privacy.

A long list of options allows the owner to rig the new 450 Sundancer with advanced electronics, generators, teak exterior decking, a foredeck sun pad, hydraulic-lift swim platform, rod holders, and several choices of upgraded stereos and TVs throughout. Now that’s entertainment!

Bayliner Boats, a brand of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), today announced its all-new 245 Sunbridge Cruiser, re-configured for 2010 as the ultimate entry-level weekend getaway for cruising, watersports or dockside entertaining.  Featuring room for eight and a light-filled, open cabin, the 245 Cruiser allows water lovers to step into cruising by offering possibly the best value on the market.

Bayliner’s 245 SB is designed for comfort, performance and ease of ownership.  As plush topside as it is below in its roomy and well-appointed cabin, the 245 benefits from Bayliner’s exclusive beam forward design that puts livable space where it’s needed most.  In the cockpit, the L-shaped seating area includes a SunChaiser™ lounger with fore-and-aft movable backrest so passengers can optimize their conversation or viewing space.  Cupholders near each seat make serving beverages easy as well.

Drivers will appreciate the power assisted rack-and-pinion steering that minimizes helm effort.  The glare-resistant instrument panel is completely waterproof, making hosedowns easy, while ample dash space is left for aftermarket electronics.

Powering the 245 SB is a 5.0L (220HP) Mercruiser Alpha I V-8 engine—more than enough for watersports like tubing or wakeboarding, yet economical to operate over a full weekend.  A retractable three-step swim ladder with handrail offers convenient access to the integrated swim platform.

In the cabin, six-plus feet of headroom provides a rich sense of openness—a feeling only accented by the 245 SB’s continuous side windows.  The galley includes a stainless steel wet sink and plenty of food and dinnerware storage; the forward dinette, capable of seating four comfortably, doubles as a V-berth at night.  The 245 also includes a private aft stateroom for two, enclosed head with sink and portable toilet or optional holding tank, and integrated below-deck AM/FM/CD stereo with speakers that is also satellite-ready and MP3 compatible.

“Bayliner’s new 245 SB for 2010 is an excellent combination of versatility, simplicity and value,” noted Jeff Behan, President of Bayliner Boats.  “Our goal was to create a top-quality cruiser that is easy to use and easy to maintain, yet also provides the functional amenities that support a wide variety of uses.

Whether your favorite pastime is dockside parties, overnight family excursions or simply experiencing the open water on a sunny afternoon—or all three—the Bayliner 245 SB makes it all possible.”

Adding to its versatility, the 245 SB is suitable for trailering to wherever the roads and waters dictate.  Options include air conditioner/heater, dockside power (including dual-voltage refrigerator, alcohol electric stove, water heater, battery charger and transom shower), Sunbrella® cockpit or camper back covers, tandem-axle trailer, and two engine upgrades.

Get that satisfaction feeling from the Sealine SC35

February 15, 2010

Add to FacebookAdd to DiggAdd to Del.icio.usAdd to StumbleuponAdd to RedditAdd to BlinklistAdd to TwitterAdd to TechnoratiAdd to Yahoo BuzzAdd to Newsvine

Although launched back in 2007 the SC35 was the corner stone for the latest Sealine design direction. The design filled the saloon with natural light through the translucent convertible roof system with an unprecedented feeling of space for a boat of this size in both forward and aft cabins.

During the first year of production Sealine rode a wave of orders for the SC35 (Sports convertible 35) being a hit with customers who were attracted to the signature design innovation from Sealine.

Throughout the interior, the colour palette is warm and natural with walnut edging, washed walnut panelling and soft furnishings of ivory tones, silver blue and chocolate brown, whilst the secondary palette offers a fresh contrast with lime green, papaya orange and dark blueberry tones.

The large double forward cabin is reached by opening a set of double doors. This creates an open plan feel and gives an overall impression of space flowing through the boat

The hull, designed in collaboration with world powerboat champion designer Ocke Mannerfelt, has a deep v form with extended planning surfaces and bold topside contours – generated to provide comfortable and efficient costal cruising

She can be supplied with twin diesel engine options from Volvo or Mercruiser married to Twin prop stern drives giving her a respectable 30 knots plus top speed.

On a final note the SC35 has always been a popular choice with Sports Cruiser enthusiasts around the globe and what is even more attractive is you can find very good used examples of the very popular Sealine sports boat.
